Collierville Literacy Council (CLC) was founded in 1987 by a group of volunteers who saw the imperative need in our community for an Adult Basic Education / Literacy
Program. In the years since its conception, CLC has expanded to include personalized tutoring services for adults who are preparing to earn their GED
, and for those in our area who wish to learn English as a learned language (ELL)
A Volunteer Board of Directors
from our community governs the council.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, CLC provides its services to the community with only a small registration and assessment fee.
In 2012, CLC received Accreditation from ProLiteracy America.
